CYLINDER EXCHANGE PROGRAM: THE PROGRAM - RESPONSIBILITIES - OUR COMMITMENT DELIVERY - SUPPORT - TECHNOLOGY - OPD VALVES
OPD -
Overfill Prevention Device
The National Fire Protection Association - NFPA Pamphlet 58 1998 Edition mandates the following OPD requirements:
How to Identify an OPD Cylinder for Exchange
Acceptable Exchange Criteria OPD Cylinders will be exchanged with only a charge for the propane if the cylinder meets the following checklist. If the tank has one of the following defects listed below, do not exchange for it since this tank will not be usable again.
To assure your safety and proper operation, all propane exchange cylinders must meet local, state and federal regulations. In accordance with NFPA 58 standards and NPGA Safety Bulletin No. 118,
Federal and State regulations require hauling propane cylinders secured in a vertical position. PLEASE
DO NOT ASK FOR AN EXCEPTION. OPD Return Policy The Jet
Gas Cylinder Exchange Program was developed as a
"tank-for-tank" exchange. Upon installation of the cabinet, no
deposits are charged and you are only billed for the propane in the
cylinder. Return Policy Outside of Exchange Cylinder NO CREDIT will be issued for cylinders returned by customers because they are no longer using the cylinder. We recommend, when selling a cylinder outright, that the customer be advised of this "No Return" policy. Jet Gas also urges you not to accept any extra cylinders from customers looking to dispose of them. Rather, ask them to take them to their local propane supplier.
